Lab cups

LabCups was a cup collection created for Édesség Labor, an experimental pastry shop. The cups were made of high-fired porcelain, paired with laser-cut saucers and silk-screen printed decoration. They were designed in espresso, cappuccino, and latte sizes.

Anyone who has visited the pastry shop knows that their desserts are made in an unconventional yet highly precise way. The aim of the collection was to reflect this experimental but clean and refined approach.

Every cake has an extra layer, a surprise element or a twist—this is what we wanted to translate into the cups as well: simple forms with a small “twist”.

The handle is the most important element of the cups. In today’s world, many people neglect fine motor skills, so with this unusual handle design I wanted to playfully re-activate this ability. The handle is unconventional, but fully functional.
